AIM: To
provide support to Heart Children, to their families, clinics
and hospitals involved with pediatric diagnoses, treatment
and surgery.
OBJECTIVES:
1. To
ensures members of Heart Kids of South Australia have a number
of social events where the children and their families can
enjoy social activities.
2. To provide information, support and assistance to families
who have had a child diagnosed with a heart condition or if
surgery is pending.
3. To facilitate fundraising for research into pediatric heart
defects and for equipment to improve diagnosis and treatment
of children with heart conditions.
4. To promote community awareness of the above.
5. To have a functional and active committee with trained
'contact' people available.
STRATEGIES TO MEET THESE OBJECTIVES:
OBJECTIVE

that an annual Christmas Function is organised. |

a social activity or outing is organised during the year. |

Circulate
information, vouchers and other benefits to Heart Children
when they become available. |

OBJECTIVE
2
| To
provide information, support and assistance to families
who have had a child diagnosed with a heart condition
or is surgery is pending. |

Provide
a support network to parents (and guardians) through a
list of trained people who are contactable via telephone,
and are capable of listening to the parent's problems
and provide with advice if needed. |

Produce
an updates printed brochure of Heart Kids of AS, information
kits and other supporting information in a kit form that
can be provided via hospitals, clinics and support staff. |
| 3 |
Donate
phone cards to families on a equitable basis, who are
traveling interstate for pediatric heart surgery. |
| 4 |
Issue
a newsletter at least quarterly providing relevant information. |

| To
facilitate fundraising for the research into pediatric

with other organisations for fundraising events or functions. |

Seek
ideas and support allocations for funds for research
into pediatric heart defects at hospitals or South Australia
tertiary institutions. |

ideas and support allocations for funds for equipment
to clinics or hospitals on an equitable basis, to assist
with diagnosis and treatment of heart children. |
OBJECTIVE 4
| To
promote community awareness of the above. |

Provide
a newsletter at least four times a year, that is sent
out to all current members of Heart Kids SA incorporated. |
| 2 |
Update
and distribute the Heart Kids information brochure and
poster to relevant hospitals , clinics and information
outlets. |
| 3 |
Distribute
the Heart Kids of SA video to outlets and parents on
"as needed" basis. |
| 4 |
Undertake
presentations and talks about Heart Kids to media outlets,
charitable service and community groups on an "as
needed" basis. |
| 5 |
Seek
corporate sponsorship and provide subsequent recognition
in developing a higher profile and supporting the functions
of Heart Kids of SA incorporated. |
OBJECTIVE 5
| To
have a functional and active committee with trained
'contact' people available. |
| 1 |
Elect
a committee on an annual basis consisting but not limited
to a Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and Publicity
Officer. |
| 2 |
The
committee being quorum of five shall meet at least six
times per annum (in addition to the annual general meeting). |
| 3 |
The
committee shall act in accordance with the Heart Kids
of SA Incorporated Constitution and Code of Ethics. |
| 4 |
Ensure
that Heart Kids 'contact' people are sufficiently trained
to listen to family members who have children with heart
problems, and are able ti provide advice where necessary. |
| 5 |
Shall
Liaise and other associations and fund raising committees. |
| 6 |
Shall
select and consult with an advisory panel and where
necessary, as agreed by the Committee. |
